Currently, SCT aims primarily to offer information about encephalitis lethargica through its website. SCT has particularly sought to promote research into the causes and treatment of EL, as described elsewhere on the site. We have also supported the publication of a book “Encephalitis Lethargica: During and After the Epidemic” (edited by Professor Joel Vilensky), which provides a detailed history of the disease. This book was dedicated to Sophie Cameron and has a Prologue by SCT, and a preface by Dr Oliver Sacks; it was published by Oxford University Press in New York at the end of 2010.

There are encephalitis forums on the internet, including Facebook, that may be able to offer individual help and support. The Encephalitis Society (www.encephalitis.info) may also be able to help individuals.
